Platforms and system requirements

Gekko 3.0 requires .NET 4.6.1 to run (this version of .NET was released in 2015). NET 4.6.1 requires requires Windows 7 SP1 or later. It usually comes pre-installed, so there is normally no need to download and install .NET 4.6.1 on a Windows pc.

 

Gekko does not run on Linux and Mac out of the box, but virtualization software may be used (more here). The core parts of Gekko only use rather basic .NET functionality, so in the future these could be provided for .NET 5.0/Core, which is available for Linux and Mac. This would probably be in the form of a rather simple command window.
