At present, Gekko is used for many things, but the two foremost use cases are probably data management and modeling (including analyzing GAMS models). Regarding the latter, there is a user guide available for modeling here. The present data management user guide does not cover modeling at all, except a bit on how to compare two databanks (also relevant for modeling).
